Wholesale or retail distribution chains, whether they operate in the food/home sector or other niches as ‘category killers’, have in their logistics processes one of the main levers for generating value and building competitive differentiation.
Both in the initial logistics flows (from suppliers to plants or logistics blocks), as well as movements to stores or points of sale, or even from the growing omnichannel, the need to make home deliveries, involves very relevant challenges in parameters of efficiency, profitability, planning and management capacity of the different transport providers from which they usually feed to respond to all these needs of movement of goods, which must be combined with strict compliance with requirements, compatibility schemes and restrictions associated with an operation growing in complexity.
We will be able to plan over different time frames, even identifying regular transport structures or sequences that facilitate the contracting and management of transport providers.
We will ensure compliance not only with the regulations in force, but also with the whole scheme of driving cycle restrictions agreed with suppliers (to facilitate the drivers’ return to base every certain number of hours), as well as the compatibilities between types of goods (dry, fresh, frozen, returns, fish…), management of the different types of goods (dry, fresh, frozen, returns, fish…). ), management of the different types of docks and their specific requirements, and always respecting the feasible gap configurations within each barge, differentiating even between the management and planning of tractor heads (generally associated to a base platform or a specific plant) and the management and planning of barge movement, which in medium and long distance scenarios will require interchange points between tractor heads.
The planning in minutes of all optimized transport scenarios combining different strategies (multi-pickups, multi-deliveries, groupage, etc.), with no limitations in terms of fleet type, number of vehicles, number of orders, etc. ensuring the ideal configuration of each barge, its loading and unloading sequence in each node of the network, and its specific association at each moment to each tractor unit, fulfilling all the requirements and business criteria (minimize kilometers traveled, minimize number of vehicles, maximize vehicle fill level, maximize vehicle uptime, etc.) will be key for an efficient and profitable operation.
We will be able to visualize, control and monitor the entire daily cycle and in real time, the entire operation, with the flexibility to configure alerts to customers or to our team in case of events, delays or incidents, and the evidence of fully configurable deliveries, offering us maximum visibility and ability to react to unforeseen events.
