OGA participates together with Universidad de Málaga in Transfiere 2024, European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation

The event will take place from 20 to 22 March at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA), where OGA and Universidad de Málaga (UMA) will present the joint project ‘WaterWise’ on the optimisation of water in agricultural soils.

OGA, an Andalusian company specialised in automating and optimising critical business processes from its solutions based on the application of artificial intelligence and operational research, is attending Transfiere, European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation together with Universidad de Málaga (Silver Partner of the forum) in a stand where different research institutes and its OTRI (Office for the Transfer of Research Results) will present different projects and research.

WaterWise, the OGA and IGS-UMA project for the optimisation of water in agricultural soils

OGA, as a transforming agent of the industry, maintains a close relationship with academia and technology transfer thanks to its Technology Advisory Board, the CÁTEDRA Group, formed by 13 nationally and internationally renowned professors specialised in operational research and data science with whom it collaborates in different projects.

In this scenario, WaterWise stands out, a research project between OGA and the Geomorphology and Soils Laboratory of the Universidad de Málaga (IGS-UMA) based on the real-time monitoring, tracking and prediction of soil moisture and its relationship with the availability of water for crops, coordinated by José Damián Ruiz Sinoga and Julián Molina (professor of Applied Economics and Mathematics at the Universidad de Málaga, and member of the CÁTEDRA Group).

Thus, WaterWise, which studies the Plant, Water, Soil relationship, aims to develop a complete real-time monitoring system for soil and crops, using advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to analyse, predict and simulate the water and climate dynamics of crops in order to use the appropriate water required by each type of crop and terrain.

WaterWise, a project resulting from the collaboration between OGA and the Geomorphology and Soils Laboratory of Universidad de Málaga (IGS-UMA), is conceived as a pioneering tool in the optimisation of agricultural irrigation, contributing significantly to water saving and environmental sustainability.

OGA at Transfiere, Europe’s largest R&D&I and knowledge transfer event

One more year, Transfiere becomes the meeting point of talent, innovation and scientific-technological development, being a pleasure for OGA to participate and promote the transfer of knowledge together with Universidad de Málaga and the Laboratory of Geomorphology and Soils of the Universidad de Málaga (IGS-UMA).

Undoubtedly, what was learnt at this globally relevant event will be positively translated into the evolution of OGA’s solutions and the methods applied in the work with its clients.
